Sara Orton (starting January 13, 2025)

Counselor in Training and Masters Student (Idaho State University, Clinical Mental Health Counseling)

Every individual is unique, has different lived experiences, and each is deserving of respect, dignity, and safety. It is my goal to create a safe environment in which every client feels seen and heard. Life changes, physical and mental health challenges, traumas, and other stressors can be difficult to navigate. I strive to be a collaborative partner to help individuals navigate through these challenges. I believe the power to find healing, answers, and growth is found within the individual and my role is to empower and to help facilitate that process.

Sara is currently a graduate student in the Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Idaho State University. She previously earned a Masters degree in Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Boise State University.

Sara is drawn to Person-Centered, Gestalt, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches and works to understand the therapeutic needs of each client. She is also influenced by systems thinking and finds it important to treat the whole person and not just specific parts.
