Dr. Jessica Henderson, Ph.D., LPC, NCC
Counselor
I primarily use a person-centered approach in counseling, which is centered on the belief that we all have within us the capacity to come to our own self-discovery and wellness. However, various life events, stressors, losses, and traumas may impact our ability to cope on our own. I work with clients to gain self-confidence, a stronger sense of identity, and an ability to build healthy relationships. I am experienced in counseling clients with grief, depression, anxiety, stress, abuse, and other mental health conditions. I am also passionate about advocacy for underserved and vulnerable populations. I have recently been working with a research team on the counseling needs of caregivers and health care workers working with medically fragile individuals. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified school counselor, and National Board-Certified Counselor. I am also a professor of Counselor Education at Liberty University.
